Organizing Personal material
Personal is a private, human-readable collection of topic articles and supporting material, as well as a source for forming situated working understanding. Organize it by the subject a record helps understand, while keeping original evidence, interpretation, and the person's current judgment distinguishable within that subject. Hindsight can maintain substantive topic articles through native Knowledge Pages; observations support their formation backstage. Original evidence retains its owners. No fixed six-file output or complete duplicate summary is required. Native formation explains the route.
Classify by what the material explains
| Subject | Material and use |
|---|---|
| Preferences and selection | Expressed choices, priorities, adopted arrangements, alternatives retained or rejected, and the history through which a selection pattern becomes visible or changes. |
| Psychological experience and assessment | Cognitive, affective, embodied, and relational accounts; questionnaire responses, performance tests, reports, and grounded interpretations. |
| Personal conditions and everyday life | Relevant identity and bodily facts, habits, places, resources, work and study situations, and current directions. |
| Self-expression and selected works | Names, signatures, images, creative and research works, and the person's interpretations of their significance. |
These categories locate contributions rather than divide a person into independent parts. A mobile work arrangement can express a preference, accommodate bodily discomfort, and depend on available equipment. Maintain each fact or developed account once, then link the relations. A work's content can inform understanding without serving as a psychological test. A questionnaire has its own context and evidential limits; it does not determine a preference or value.
Use the person's own material to refine the organization. Keep meaningful names in their native language. An existing collection can be classified through its maintained index and reader navigation without moving every file. Create a deeper directory only when it clarifies a substantial body of material. Source and archive indexes supply provenance, not another competing portrait.
Keep Personal readable for the person
Keep substantive topic articles within these four subject groups, with a readable index and links to their supporting sources. The person should be able to open the existing Personal entrance, choose a topic, and read a coherent account; raw observation rows, source lists, and an API response do not replace that use. Original quotations, records and works remain with their owners and reachable from the articles. The person or an authorized agent can still edit, organize, correct and develop sources or articles directly. Native formation removes a mandatory manual synthesis stage; it does not prohibit that work.
When Hindsight maintains an article, give its source_query the topic's actual
content scope, relations, evidence distinctions and human reading purpose.
Project its native Markdown body into the existing private reading path and
verify the index, article and source links at the actual reading surface. Keep
the current readable version usable while migrating an affected derived article
when revision calls for it; do not require wholesale deletion or rewriting.
Personal topic articles and collaboration models serve different purposes. Derive both from the relevant original grounds and their native evidence links. The collaboration model selects implications for work; it need not be a summary of a generated Personal article. Exclude generated sibling pages from grounding when needed to avoid circular synthesis or treating repeated summaries as independent evidence.
Bring personal memory into the same account
Remembered preferences, background facts, and useful context can be maintained
directly in references/personal/, classified by what they concern. When an
existing Personal file already develops the subject, integrate the useful
meaning there rather than keeping a second account because it came from a
chatbot's memory folder. Organize remaining everyday context in the way that
makes it easiest to maintain with the person's actual material.
Material may also stay with an existing private owner and be referenced from a Personal file. Make the reference useful: say what the record contributes, where the intended model can read it, and which source should be revised when the content changes. This supports managing the material together without copying every original. Retain dates, attribution, and uncertainty; migrating an old observation does not make it a current fact. Credentials and sensitive originals keep their own access boundaries.
If a host injects selected memory into conversations, treat that text as a concise working selection from the maintained material. Keep enough context to act usefully, while fuller evidence and exceptions remain reachable. During authorized revision, the model can update the relevant account, change what is selected, and retire obsolete summaries or duplicate entrypoints. Verify the actual host's retrieval or injection after changing its source. Storing a file, publishing a Skill, and updating a product's native memory are different operations; none establishes the others or starts an automatic collection service. Personal memory and its references remain private.
Understand preference in its extended realization
Study preference as it operates through the person, model, tools, and personal environment. The environment can partly constitute the selection capacity being understood; it is not merely noise to remove before identifying an internal preference. Model-assisted choices, adopted defaults, and revisions can expose a pattern before the person knows how to describe it.
Compare actual alternatives, requests, implementation, use, and correction. Make the pattern visible with concrete cases and explain why the interpretation fits. Keep enacted selection, interpretation, and present endorsement intelligible within the same practice: a person can recognize a helpful arrangement, reject an unwanted constraint, or choose to change a formerly useful preference. Do not equate an isolated model error with an adopted direction or assume the system is already endorsed in every detail.
Git/GitHub preserves committed works and ancestry; Computer History supplies differently scoped use evidence. Their connection supports a recoverable trajectory. Preserve consequential exclusions and old interpretations at their existing sources, without making every old version active. History's ancestry graph is not a priority order, and the basic judgment described by inconsistency-tolerant semantics is not a model of human computation. The preference essay develops these relations.
Establish what material is needed and available
Begin with the intended use of the connected models and inspect the existing material. Determine which categories have relevant grounds, which have dated or uncertain information, and which material gaps would change the account. Completeness means adequate coverage for those judgments, not an exhaustive biography or a permanently finished dossier.
The revision method selects the emphasis of each update. Categories are available grounds, not a checklist to refresh in full: one or several can be central, while others enter through conditions or consequences that could change the judgment. Revise that emphasis when the question or evidence changes, and maintain only the affected material.
Retrieve available records before asking the person to reconstruct them. When a necessary fact, experience, or judgment remains unavailable, ask a focused question that identifies what is missing and what it affects. If the person supplies a source, inspect that source and update the gap; do not repeat the question as though no answer had arrived. Continue independent writing while dependent claims remain open. A missing measurement stays unknown; its absence does not authorize a new psychological test.
Record bodily measurements with dates and units, directions as intentions rather than accomplished events, and assessment results with instrument, version, occasion, and response context. Reuse existing authoritative records through links where possible. Credentials and sensitive identity documents retain their actual owners; a basic profile needs only the relevant facts and source route.
Guide native fusion through connected content lenses
Yinyang's crossed participation and dialectical return remain the organizing relation of this maintained implementation. Preferences, psychological material, and personal conditions give that relation situated content.
- Orientation states adopted values, purposes, and which preferences the person wants to sustain or reconsider.
- Person brings together preference patterns, psychological grounds, capacities, and life conditions in distinct, connected passages.
- Counterpart explains the model's actual contribution, including making patterns inspectable and carrying authorized changes.
- Relationship develops how generation, judgment, correction, and preference revision occur between participants.
- Environment explains how tools and circumstances realize those choices and shape further possibilities.
- Revision states how new material, comparison, the person's response, and actual use change the account and its realization.
Use a category where it changes the model question, without repeating inventories. Keep originals with their evidence owners and richer derived understanding readable in the relevant Personal articles; native observations support that understanding backstage. A source gap limits the corresponding claim; preserving it explicitly is better than inventing the missing material. When the current purpose needs it resolved, continue to the actual source or the person's answer before claiming completion.
