Script loop operations
Identify source, public wrapper, installed target, trigger and observable success before editing. Reproduce the current issue with a faithful small check; edit only task-owned candidate paths; run syntax plus meaningful behavior checks using an isolated destination. Source validation is not installed runtime validation.
Keep repository-only maintenance, chezmoi dot_* source and runtime targets distinct. Package scripts stay with their specialist owner; install the complete package when relative imports/resources are used. Long-lived Python resources must declare their actual compatibility floor. Logs and recovery state belong to explicit recipient runtime destinations rather than authoring source.
Expose help, preview/check or a faithful foreground run. Critical outcomes go to stdout/stderr; scheduled jobs need foreground/log/launchctl observation. Preserve authorization and actual login/consent boundaries.
After exact-tree publication, hand the real convergence owner the affected mapping, apply and rollback information. It serializes live writers, applies that exact tree, verifies the resolved installed entrypoint and consumer, restores on failure, and advances stable source last. No copied Skill prose proves that owner is installed.
Completion names source files, meaningful checks, exact accepted revision, runtime readback or the concrete unfinished convergence boundary. Preserve executable modes, interpreter/resource imports and old-path closure on deletes/moves.
